Florida Keys Climate
The Florida Keys have an average climate that is very warm. Since Florida Keys are close to the equator it almost has perfect weather all year around. During November to May the weather is great. The temperature is perfect and there is lots of sunshine. It is also the most popular time to travel. From June to October it is very humid and there are daily days of rainfall. June to October is also known as the hurricane period in the Florida Keys. The most precipitation occurs in September.The climate in the winter maintains 75-80 degrees. The highest temperature that was recorded was 100°F in 1886. August is the warmest month. The coolest temperature that was recorded was 41°F in 1981.
Seasons
In the Florida Keys the seasons of winter, spring, and fall have a lot of sunshine. The rainy season which is from May to October usually receives 53 inches of rain. During rainy season temperatures average in the high 80s and in the low 90s and 70s. A typical day during the rainy season starts off hot and a humid morning followed by a very hot afternoon and sometimes there will be violent thunderstorms. Since there are frequent thunderstorms it is known as the lightning capital of the world.
